She taught me how to do my hair and makeup, she taught my how to type (proud 85-90 wpm) and she taught me how to do the Hustle. I was lucky enough to be the same shoe size - and she had awesome taste! I was forever borrowing shoes, jewelry, pocketbooks and clothes. I was always impressed with her generosity - even if she bought boots for $200 and the tag was still on---I was welcome to borrow them! Aunt Rita and my mother drove me to the hospital when I was about to have my son Conor - all I can say is that I laughed all the way there!
Anyway, back to the "shoe" thing - I don't know if she said this to everyone or not but...she always said to me, "Margaret, Margaret go wash your feet, the board of health is across the street." I will say that to my daughter Molly and my son Conor and when I do, we will all remember Aunt Rita with love, affection and humor.
She will be forever missed.
