Roses in December
I have only known Rita for about 24 years which is when my daughter Kristen married Michael. We met intermittently over the years at Easter or Thanksgiving or Christmas with Kris & Mike. Many of you were fortunate enough to have had a much longer and deeper relationship with Rita.
It wasn't until she got sick that we got to know her better. Last Fall, she and Fred came to visit us in Florida and we had good times riding in the golf cart, eating out, and just having conversations -- she was so energetic & relational !
Good Memories ... And memories are so important as we get older. I think it's important to make your own good memories to have later.
I leave you with this quote from the novelist, James M. Barrie:
"God gave us memory that we might have roses in December."
