Obituary for Shirley E Koster (Talmadge)
Shirley Talmadge Koster, 85, passed away on October 24, 2014. She was born on February 17, 1929 in Hackensack, N.J., the daughter of Grace and Lewis Talmadge and grew up in Yonkers, N.Y. Where she met her husband Dennis Koster Jr. and married on September 30, 1946. She was employed as a Laboratory Technician while raising her children and also as a Switchboard Operator. She loved listening to Big Band Music and Frank Sinatra, watching old movies and reading. She made made many friends while a resident of The Baptist Home in Rhinebeck N.Y.
She was very proud of her children and family and loved them very much. She is survived by her 8 children: Denise (Frank) Andreotti Pine Bush, N.Y., Craig (Emilia) Koster Hopewell Jct., N.Y., Cathy (Jim) Coco Matthews N.C., Pamela (Bill) Shaw Carmel, N.Y., Rhonda (Ken) O’Connor Hurley, N.Y., Karen (Scott) Markumas Carmel, N.Y., Amy (Karl) Forste Saugerties, N.Y., Jeffrey (Kimberly) Koster Rhinebeck, N.Y. and 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
