Obituary for Kaylyn Anna Touhey

It is with the greatest heartbreak that the Touhey family announces the passing of Kaylyn Anna Touhey, following a car accident on the afternoon of May 16th. She had the most beautiful soul and was the guiding light of our large, loud, loving family. She lived her life the way she wanted, pursuing multiple passions at the same time, while being the most caring, loving, and generous mother. She didn’t bring the party – she was the party. “A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again”. Kaylyn did that in life and we are tasked to ensure that continues past her physical presence in this world.
Kaylyn spent years working at Adam Broderick, growing a very loyal and grateful clientele. As a makeup artist and aesthetician, Kaylyn used her talents and skills to make her family and friends look and feel beautiful always, expecting nothing in return. Kaylyn got so much joy out of seeing the happiness she brought others. She always wanted to better herself so she could give Benjamin the best life possible. And as someone who just did not like to sit still, she also started at Remax Realty, worked extremely hard to obtain her license, and spent evenings working at the Towne Crier Café, where only she would refer to it like going to a “party”. You were lucky if you could keep up with her. She was a passionate woman with a powerful ambition to provide the best life possible for her son, Benjamin. He was her whole world and made sure everyone knew it.
Kaylyn was born February 2nd, 1987 to her loving parents, Robert and Mary Touhey. Kaylyn was an amazing, wonderful, dedicated mother to her son, Benjamin, whom she loved fiercely. She is survived by her parents, Benjamin and his father, Zack, her sister, Marissa, her niece, Braelyn, 19 cousins, and 7 Aunts, one whom embraced her in Heaven, as well as many friends and family who love her dearly.
Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Kaylyn knew she lit up the room wherever she went. She had a contagious energy, bringing love and positivity to everyone in her life. Kaylyn’s generosity was always over the top and that is what made her shine. You couldn’t ignore her if you tried – she wouldn’t let you - and we all loved her for it. Although we wish she was still here with us in this life, we know we couldn’t be luckier to have her as our guardian angel.
We can all learn a lesson from Kaylyn. To experience more joy, more fun, more beauty, and love harder every day of our lives. Although she’s not physically here with us, she’ll be in our hearts forever and we cherish the amazing memories she left behind.
A visitation will be held at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home in Carmel on Sunday, May 21st starting at 3pm. A service will be held at 6pm at the same location. All are welcome to come cherish the life and memory of our beloved Kaylyn.
