After a rapid onset and progression of cancer, Ralph A. Collesian Jr., 58, passed away on Saturday February 4th, 2023. Ralph was predeceased by his father, Ralph A, Collesian Sr. (2016), and mother Jane A. Kogel (2003). Ralph was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and coworker to ALL who knew him. A man of character and strength, Ralph did not give in without a fight, and he left peacefully with loved ones around him.
Recently retired, Ralph was a loyal, decorated, accomplished, respected and loved Sergeant of the NYS Department of Corrections who had served 36 years, and known statewide for his sharp shooting skills and the impact he had on the careers and personal lives of countless officers during his long tenure.
Ralph will be remembered as an avid boater, fisherman, gardener, golfer, soccer coach, and dedicated family man. His humble nature, love of life, unique sense of humor and true love for others even more than himself will truly be missed, but will never be forgotten.
Ralph is survived by his wife Jenny, sons Jaime, Angelo, Sebastian, and daughter Cassia, his brothers Gary and Chad, his grandchildren Thiago, Nicholas and Adam, his dog Saki and countless other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 10th from 1-6 pm at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home in Carmel, NY. Ralph’s wishes were to be cremated with his ashes sprinkled in the ocean during a private ceremony with his family.

Ralph, recientemente jubilado después de 36 años de servicio, fue un sargento leal, condecorado, respetado y querido del Departamento Correccional del Estado de Nueva York. Conocido en todo el estado por sus agudas habilidades de tiro y el impacto que tuvo en las carreras y vidas personales de innumerables oficiales durante su larga carrera.
Ralph será recordado como un ávido navegante, pescador, jardinero, golfista, entrenador de fútbol y dedicado hombre de familia. Su naturaleza humilde, amor por la vida, sentido del humor único y verdadero amor por los demás, incluso más que por sí mismo, serán extrañados, pero nunca olvidados.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 10 de febrero de 1 a 6 pm en la casa funeraria Balsamo-Cordovanoen en Carmel, NY. Los deseos de Ralph eran de ser incinerado con sus cenizas esparcidas en el océano durante una ceremonia privada con su familia.
