At the age of 88 years old, Ermelindo (Al) Maucieri, long-time resident of Harrison, passed away on May 2nd, 2022, at United Hebrew Nursing Home in New Rochelle, New York.
He was born on February 18th, 1934, in Bonefro, Italy and immigrated to the United States at 17 years old. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to him working hard to send money back to his loved ones in Italy in addition to starting his own family in New York. After 30 years of dedicated service, Ermelindo retired from Westchester Joint Water Works in Mamaroneck, New York.
He was known for his generous deposition and sincere heart. He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all, and a man who would give his shirt off his back for anyone. He loved spending time in his garden growing fruits and vegetables, notably figs and sunflowers.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Castellano), children, Nicholas (Karen), Andrew, John (Tara), 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ermelindo will be forever remembered for his beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort knowing that he is in heaven watching over us. Forever in our hearts.
