Susan Ianniello
August 15, 1937 - February 16, 2022

Susan Ianniello (nee Cuomo) passed away suddenly. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a benevolent and caring grandmother and dedicated sister. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts that will never be repaired.

She was born to Louis and Laura Cuomo in Harlem and grew up there, graduating from Julia Richman High School. While she fell in love with our father, Mike, when she was in her teens, they did not start dating until after she graduated high school. They married in 1958 and were married for 57 years until his passing in 2015. She is survived by her three sons , Peter (Nick), Michael (Debra) and Louis (Laura) and three granddaughters, Sandra, Victoria, and Isabelle. She is also survived by her sister, Maryann with whom she had a special bond and a special relationship. She will be dearly missed by all of us.

She put her children's education at the forefront of everything she did, and sacrificed to send us to private schools from kindergarten through high school. In 1979, to ensure that her children's goals for education were met, she began working at Fordham University, a tenure that lasted 34 years until her retirement in 2013. After that, she remained working for them as a consultant for six years, earning her the Bene Merenti medal for 40 years of service. Her Fordham family was very special to her and she always remained grateful for the opportunities that Fordham gave her and her family.
