Obituary for AdaLynne Olifiers

AdaLynne Olifiers
age 75 passed away surrounded by her children on November 8, 2020 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT from complications of stroke.
AdaLynne was born on March 22, 1945 in Mount Vernon, NY to Helen Aubry Forkell and James Forkell. She graduated from AB Davis High School where she was captain of the cheerleading squad and secretary of the student government and attended trade school for stenography. AdaLynne was retired after several years in the Carmel Central School District; as a school monitor at Matthew Patterson Elementary School and an administrative assistant to the athletic director at Carmel High School. She also spent several years at Kraft General Foods in White Plains, NY before becoming the proud part owner of Marcel Olifiers and Associates. She finished her career as office manager of her daughter’s physical therapy practice, Elite Physical Therapy in Carmel, NY. She was a very active member of the community as a cub scout den mother, cofounder and secretary for the Rebel Youth Sports Association and founder of AQUA; bringing clean water to Lake Carmel, NY.
She is preceded in death by her husband, high school sweetheart and best friend, Marcel Olifiers, Jr and her older brother, James Forkell.
AdaLynne is survived by her 3 children and their spouses; Marcel Jay Olifiers (Colleen Olifiers), Michael Olifiers (Debbie Olifiers) and Eileen Olifiers-Whalen (Murphy Whalen), her sister, Eloise Forkell Ceccolini, and her 8 grandchildren, Kathleen, Kevin, Brian, TJ, Taylor, Michael, Hailey and Aidan.
AdaLynne had a love for gardening and was very passionate and proud of her family and grandchildren, attending concerts, recitals and musicals and spending countless hours on the athletic fields supporting and cheering them on. AdaLynne had a bright and cheerful personality with an infectious smile. She was loved and adored by all who crossed her path. She touched many lives with her generosity, empathy and passion for life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Friday, November 13, 2020 anytime from 4p-8pm at the Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home located at 15 Church Street, Carmel, NY.
