Obituary for Ramon Santiago

Ramon “Papa” Santiago was born on December 23, 1943 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. With the support of his family he came to New York at the age of 16 where he immediately sought to work and provide for himself and eventually his growing family. His dedication to family, hard work and music carried with him every day of his life. Throughout the many life challenges he was presented with he proved time and time again that he was resilient beating prostate cancer, radiation and he eventually battled with Alzheimer’s for over 14 years. Until his very last moments he enjoyed Salsa music, the New York Yankee’s and a good meal.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ana Santiago and his daughters Denisse and Melissa.
He will be remembered by many for his beautiful smile.
