Lydia Romanov died May 14, 2020 in her home in Carmel. A Russian Orthodox Memorial Service and Burial will be held Thursday, May 21, at 11:00am at the Russian Orthodox Convent Novo-Diveevo in Nanuet, NY. Visitations will be held Thursday, May 21, 8:00am—10:00am at the Balsamo Cordovano Funeral Home, 15 Church Street, Carmel, NY. Lydia was born, February 14, 1923 in Russia. She with her husband, Wasylij, and sons Nickolai and Alexander emigrated from Hannover, Germany to the United States in 1950. Lydia worked at White Swan Uniforms in Yonkers. In 1970 she and her family moved to Carmel, where she spent many happy years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and took great joy in being with her family and friends. She loved listening to music and saw beauty in life’s most simple pleasures. Lydia is survived by her son and spouse, Alexander and Lorraine Romanov; her daughter and spouse, Laura and Alfredo Plastini; her daughter-in-law, Florence Romanov; grandchildren, Peter Romanov, Nickolai Plastini, Larissa Plastini and step-granddaughter Joan Comenzo. Her husband, Wasylij, proceeded her in death, as did her son, Nickolai, and her grandson Sasha (Alexander); along with many beloved relatives and friends
