I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing. I've known Joe since the day he joined UI, and we soon realized that we had both been at Syracuse University at the same time, though we had never met there. He was a great guy, very kind-hearted, and friendly. He would stop by my office whenever he was in the building to chat and he always brightened everyone's day. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his family.
