CARMEL - Frances Eckstrand passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2018 at Putnam Ridge NH in Brewster, NY. She would have been 103 in June. Frances was born on June 26,1915 in Bronx ,NY. She married the love of her Ralph “DADDIO” Eckstrand on April 13,1941. She lived in the Bronx until moving to Carmel in April of 1977. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Doug) Noah and her sister Joan (James) Jackson. She had seven grandchildren, Christine (Bill) Marsden, Robert (Peg) Noah, Kim (Jorma) Tompuri, Leann Noah, Richard (Erin) Nordt, Michael (Ailisha) Noah and Janet (Mike) Tucker. She was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren Melissa Marsden, Lauren Marsden, Connor Noah, Ryan Noah, Meghan Brown, Will Marsden, Gus Tompuri, Jeffrey Brown, Jorja Tompuri, Makenzie Tucker, Jonathan Tucker, Oscar Nordt, Grayson Nordt, Jack Noah, and Finley Nordt. Frances was predeceased by her daughter Irene Nordt who passed on April 22nd,2016, son-in-law Richard Nordt who passed on October 26th,2016 and husband Ralph Eckstrand who passed on May 4th,1999. Mommo love to bowl and was on leagues right up into her 80s. You could always find her in her chair reading or doing a crossword puzzle. She love to watch all the neighborhood kids play in the yard and call you “OUT” when you hit a ball in her garden. Mommo was loved by many and will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donate to St. Jude’s in Frances’ memory. A memorial service will be held on Friday April 13, 2018 at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home 15 Church Street Carmel ,New York from 3-7 p.m. 845-BAL-2144. A Prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m
