Obituary for John E. Rapillo Jr.

John E.  Rapillo Jr.
John Eugene Rapillo Jr. passed away peacefully on May 2, 2017. He was born on November 8, 1934 in Bronx, NY to John and Lena Rapillo ( née DiBlasi). He attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx.At 20 years old he began working for his great uncle , Gaetano Tufo delivering eggs, butter and cheese door to door. He later bought this business, now known as Tufo's Wholesale Foods.

John was an avid baseball fan who loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, remaining a fan even when they moved to Los Angeles. His passion remained throughout his entire life. He also enjoyed traveling and dining out.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Eugene, sister in law Josephine and sister Concetta. He is survived by his former wife Serena ( née Barbaro), his sister Marianne, brother in law Bill Giardina, brother in law Edward Matrone, and many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his son Steven, his wife Jeanne-Marie (nee De Salvia) and their children Kristin, Matthew, Victoria and Brian; son Jonathan , his wife Cherish Gallant and their child Jason and Sienna; and daughter Jessica Palazzolo, her husband Brian and their children Blake , Carter and Presley .

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday June 17, 2017 , 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 85 Harrison St. West Harrison, NY 10604.
