Theresa Nickerson passed away at at Putnam Ridge in Brewster, NY. She died on June 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her sister Kathy and her husband Buddy Gilbert of Lake Carmel, NY, and 4 sisters of Florida. Patricia Sutton, Mary Smith, Donna and her husband Tony Goudie, Julie and her husband Keith Harmon. Her brother Wallace and his wife Robin Nickerson also of Fl. Her sister in law Carolyn Nickerson of Texas. She leaves behind her companion Vladimir Nehlebaeff with whom she shared many years. Also surviving are 30 nieces and nephews and numerous greatnieces and greatnephews. She was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Catherine Nickerson, her sister Sheila Ryan and brother Michael Nickerson.
Theresa was employed at Brewster Plastics in Patterson, NY for the past 17 years.
She was an avid fan of game shows, especially Jeopardy. She loved music, The Beatles and Elton John were a couple of her favorites.
She loved the ocean and her annual visits to Ocean City N.J with her friends.
She exercised every day for at least an hour on her treadmill and was often seen walking, jogging or riding her bike on the Carmel / Brewster bike path between the 2 towns.
Theresa will be remembered mostly for her loving spirit. She was kind. She never spoke an unkind word, she always had a smile even in the most difficult of times. She was filled with hope and was an inspiration to many. Her parting words were always “Love you Bunches” Well Theresa, we love you bunches too and will miss you always.
A memorial service will be held immediately following her services and interment at Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lake Carmel, NY. St. Sebastian's Columbarium. The date is not yet determined, but will be announced to friends and family when plans are finalized.
