Andrew “Andy” Grescak,a longtime Harrison resident and neighborhood celebrity.
Andrew Grescak passed away gracefully May 19, 2016 four months shy of his 100th birthday. Andrew was born in Portchester, New York on September 12, 1916 to Elko and Anastasia Marchisia Grescak. He graduated at the head of his class with honors from Portchester High School in 1934.
During the depression era, Andy, as he was known to all, worked with the country’s civil construction effort. Having acquired several engineering skills to add to his already distinguished academic accomplishments, he went on to many areas of employment, most notably as master craftsmen upholsterer and interior designer with the Martin Shop in New Rochelle and later with his own workshop.
Andrew was the loving husband of the late Catherine “Katie” (ne: Fiorito) of Harrison, N.Y. and the proud and loving father of 4 children Elaine Sinclair, Nancy king, Andrew Grescak Jr., and Mary Kay Grescak. He was grandfather to 5, Lauri Patelli, Vikki Tshantre, Jennifer Butler, Kasey Petrellese, and Korey De Renzis. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren Brianne, Jocelyn, Jake, Aidan, Ella, Jaylee, Natalia, Logan, Tyler, and Trevor, as well as step granddaughter Tracey Pacelle and step great granddaughters Angelique and Serene.
A genuinely sweet and gifted man, he will remain forever in our hearts. Until we meet again.
