Carmelita ""Carm""  Briotte (Ribuffo)
Carmelita Briotte of Harrison, NY passed away peacefully on May 1, 2016. Carmelita was born in Port Chester, NY on June 29, 1925 to Annuziata & Giuseppi Ribuffo. She is predeceased by her husband Michael (Mickey). They were married at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Port Chester, NY on September 21, 1952. She is survived by her beloved children Michael J. Briotte and wife Cynthia of Suffern, NY and Nancy Cuoco and husband Frank of Southeast, NY along with grandchildren Frank Cuoco(Nina) of Colchester, CT, Nicole King (James) of Danbury, CT and great grandchildren Blake and Ryleigh. In addition, Carmelita was predeceased by her siblings Anna, Rose, Antoinette, Mary, Rocco, Anthony and Joseph. Known as “Aunt Carm” she also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a caring individual who was there for her family and extended family. Carmelita loved to dance and take an occasional trip to the casinos, do her cross word puzzles and enjoyed eating cannolis.
A graduate of Port Chester High School, Carmelita worked as a seamstress at Ledman’s Dress Factory for many years, was part owner of Briotte’s Deli and worked at Archbishop Stepanic High School as a cafeteria cashier up until her retirement.
Carmelita was fortunate to be cared for by her three angels Zamena Baksh, Kay Ramdat and Bibi Ali over the last three years who kept her safe and made her life comfortable.
Visitation will be at the Harrison Funeral Home, Inc., Harrison, NY on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Carmelita’s life will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 10 AM St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook, NY.
Donations can be made in Carmelita’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
